Northwest Argentina proudly hosts amazing high altitude boutique wineries located in the Calchaqui Valley at over 1,700 m.a.s.l.
At high altitudes, skies are clean, the soil is poor and stony, glacial water is pure and rains are scarce.
These unique weather conditions affected wine plants and its fruit: grapes are smaller, the ripening process is slower and the skin of the fruit is thicker, which is essential on red grapes since it is in the skin where tannins are found. Wines produced from these grapes present an extense color range, amplitude and deep aromas. They are very complex wines on the palate.
