I love trekking, I love horseback rides, I love good wines, good food and totally different experiences and Andes Challenge gave me all of that!
We drove over the Andes from Chile Atacama desert to Argentina followed by travels through various areas in the north. It was very important to me that the car is comfortable due to very long drives and it was perfect.
The knowledge that Facundo has about the history and the Flora and Fauna in the whole area was amazing. I don't think there was a question he didn't know the answer to.
He also knew all the best wineries as well as the best gauchos to rent horses from - to me just a perfect combination. I was traveling solo but felt as if I'm traveling with a best friend taking care of everything.
If you are looking for something different than the regular journeys they are the ones I highly recommend!!!!

All was perfect. We learnt a lot about Salta region and specially about its amazing music. Facundo will propose you a wonderful playlist, accompanying each landscape. Also, we discovered small restaurants and authentic artisans. Parque Los Cardones is incredible, and the the way back to Salta was also marvelous. He completed the tour showing us his beloved Salta City. We stayed one night at wonderful Colomé (see Colomé). It was a two day tour with plenty of magnificent views and encountering amazing people. Amalia was a great guide and also a very safe driver despite some winding and steep roads. She listened to what we were most interested in and adjusted the tour as needed. We really enjoyed our day and saw a variety of landscapes and areas. We also very much enjoyed our time with Amalia as its not always easy to spend 11 hours with someone but she has a great personality.

From the very first email, I could tell that they were top notch professionals in guiding travelers through the region. We added on a two-day trip to Cafeyate based on this experience, and without a doubt it was the right call. Ama is such a charming and knowledgeable guide. She has a great sense of humor and kept even the longer drives fun and interesting. She also definitely showed us areas, views and small hikes that I don’t think we would have been able to discover on our own. Ama focused on every little detail and created such a personal experience - we were sad to say goodbye on our last day!

Traveling with Facundo has been a real pleasure. The nature with all its different landscapes, the remoteness, silence and absence of people are overwhelming and a unique, out of this world, experience. Facundo is all that you may hope for when you decide to travel for 7 days in a car with someone you don't know. He is a real pro, very passionate and knowledgeable about the region and the native people, a storyteller, a musician, wine lover, father and husband. And most importantly, he is just a very nice and pleasant guy to be with. The Salta region has touched our souls and it has spoiled s for ever.

We recently came back from a 6 day round trip leaving Salta... read more and traveling through the rain forest and up to the northern Quebrada Humahuaca, thru La Puna desert and the Abreda del Acay ( yikes!), with final stops in Cachi and Cafayate, before meandering back to Salta through the Quebrada Concha. He is extremely knowledgeable of the local terrain, always considerate of the Native people of the region, and very kind and entertaining as well. As an added bonus he has a special interest in geology and has worked with international renowned Canadian geologists studying the Andes formations and he also has a keen interest in the wine making of the region. We had a general plan for the tour but he built in flexibility and we stopped for an impromptu bike ride in the Los Cardonas National Park (one of the highlights) and a short hike following the river bed around Cafayate( note to self: remember short is a relative term especially when used by a young fit adventurer type like Facundo). Above all we felt safe at all times with Facundo’s driving and appreciated his excellent recommendations for lodgings, extra activities and dining. Two weeks later we are still reminiscing about the wonderful time we had in the Northwest of Argentina and hope to return for another Facundo adventure soon.
