Hiking Sillón del Inca

The hiking tour Quebrada del Toro – Puertas del Cielo is a 3-day trek with continuous transition of incredible landscapes, the historical presence of the Inca Empire and the current native cultures.

In addition to its geological history, we have a vast cultural history: In our walk we will discover ancestral paths traveled by different pre-Columbian cultures, among them, the Incas. Walking on the footprints of those wise settlers, we will get to the Incahuasi Valley, where we will visit an old throne of more than 600 years: it was built for the representative of the Inca to sit down and collect tribute. This is called the Inca Armchair.
In this area we will set up our camp to spend the night.

After breakfast we put away the camp and continue our way. Slowly, we will begin to notice the transition: with each step it becomes more humid, the grasslands turn greener and towards the bottom of the valley you can see deep gorges with crystalline rivers.

In the Abra de la Cruz, at 3,100 meters above sea level, we will stop to enjoy the view of the city of Salta and the surroundings.
In the night, we will prepare our camp in a place known as El mirador de los Cóndores, a place from where you can appreciate the greatness of the Quebrada de Astilleros and the majestic flight of the condors.

On our third day, we will continue  towards Quebrada de Astilleros, descending quickly by a beautiful path, that will lead us into an immense ravine. At noon we will have a picnic by the river bed, through which we will continue the march until we reach the meeting point with our 4wd vehicle.

In the afternoon we will be back in the city of Salta where our tour will be concluded.
